The Town of Peace River is located in northwestern Alberta along the banks of the Peace River Valley, near the confluences of the Peace, Smoky and Heart Rivers. The Town is surrounded by four Municipal Districts; M.D. of Peace #135, Northern Sunrise County, M.D. of Northern Lights #22, and M.D. of Birch Hills #19. Peace River is the second largest centre in northwestern Alberta, providing a wide range of services to the surrounding region. Local area outlooks such as Kaufman Hill, Sagitawa Lookout and the Twelve Foot Davis Gravesite all offer a spectacular view of the Peace River Valley.
