Paradise Harbor, on the Antarctic Peninsula, is perhaps the most aptly named place in the world. Heavily glaciated mountains and ice cliffs surround a protected harbor. It is one of Antarctica's most visited areas and 'zodiac cruising' among the icebergs that calve off the glacier at the harbor’s head has become very popular. Home to abundant populations of terns, petrels, cormorants, seals, penguins, and whales. No landings are made on these cruises, but the glaciers and mountains reflect beautifully in the water and the serene scene is a highlight for many visitors.
