Conflans Sainte Honorine is known for two reasons: as the home city of an ex prime minister, and as the French capital of canal transportation. The sight is impressive. The river is lined with three rows of barges of all size, make and age. One is a church with a big cross as a mast, another is a school, covered with children paintings. For an industry often though as dying, it seems to be still alive and kicking.
