The Ampiyacu River are amazing. The river is only a hundred feet wide, with countless varieties of animal sounds on both sides. Overhead, you can see pairs of Macaws flying from one side to the other, and the slow, unpredictable flight of the large metallic-blue butterflies. Near the mouth of the smaller tributaries, it is easy to spot groups of pink dolphins arching silently out of the murky water. Tall trees soar above the surrounding foliage, providing ample accommodation for the monkeys and three-toed sloths.
